2x0w series released in July 2007 was offered a 4.3' wide screen. The following, older nuvi models have been discontinued, though many are still available online and are fully supported by Garmin. My suggestion is therefore for you to compare adding lifetime map updates to your current GPS-good if you plan to keep and use it for maybe 2+ more years -or- to buy a newer, more full-featured GPS (with things like Lane Assist and Junction View) that is purchased with lifetime maps. Lifetime map updates are now $70 (both prices are current Amazon with free S&H prices, BTW). Express prompted for an update to version 7.9.1.0 which has 'critical' fixes. You seem to be thinking of buying a 1-time map update. Today I in preparation for telephoning Garmin support, rebooted my computer, connected my Nuvi 255W, opened Garmin Express, and attempted to run the map update yet again to confirm again that it fails. Having said all of the above, would I be better just buying a newer GPS with free map updates? I only drive about 8,000 miles a year, but I do take long trips several times a year. Is it about time to update them or should I wait a little longer? If now, where is the most economical place to get a map update? The maps on my Garmin 255W are about a year and a half old.
